Filmset – A European projet unifying tourism and film culture

The Filmset project has been selected by the European Community within the framework of the Horizon 2020 plan. Mazedia participated in this project by bringing its know-how in mobile applications for tourism and heritage. The consortium is led by the University of Zaragoza and includes Italian, Belgian, English, Spanish and French teams.

The aim of this project is to enhance the value of heritage places used by great filmmakers, and which participate in the European collective memory. To this end, teams have to imagine a digital support for almost two years, providing tourists with an experience based on augmented reality and the enrichment of transmedia visits. At the centre of this project is the screenwriter’s emotional relationship with small towns or regions that are sometimes ignored.

Create a European travel dynamic

The experiment is taking place in a few locations in Europe, mainly in the participating countries, but the potential of film heritage of the European regions gives reason to hope for a progressive enrichment of the available content.

This approach comes along with a pedagogical approach and sharing between the future users of the mobile and web transmedia experiences that will be offered.
